In Garma, broad military operations are still underway between the joint security forces supported by tribal fighters and People’s Mobilization militiamen against ISIL gunmen. Three gunmen have been killed and 4 explosives-rigged vehicles blown up before the gunmen could detonate them against the security forces. All the areas up to the southern outskirts of Ramadi have been cleared.
Meanwhile, Iraqi air support has struck a number of ISIL positions around Garma, where sources have reported that at least 17 gunmen were killed. Security forces are now poised to assault the Garma town center.

In Ramadi, security forces are facing the ISIL front line in eastern Husayba where fierce clashes have enabled security forces to advance onto the southern and western axes. Reinforcements and munitions supplies have been deployed to a number of areas on the outskirts of Ramadi, prior to the launch of the total assault on Ramadi. Iraqi gun ships have attacked a number of districts – from Bu-Farraj and on to the Hawz district in southernmost Ramadi. Ground forces have not yet been ordered to advance.

In western Anbar, the Jazeera Operations forces carried out a military operation in the desert areas between Haditha township and Anah township that is still controlled by ISIL gunmen. A direct route has been established between Haditha and Baghdadi and on to the Ayn al-Asad military base.

In Fallujah, heavy bombardment yesterday has, according to General Hospital sources, killed 6 residents and 9 wounded by the random bombardment of the city’s residential districts.

Security forces in Ramadi have announced that they have now taken control of two districts in central Ramadi after having killed at least 17 ISIL gunmen and having disarmed a large number of explosive devices and booby-traps.
Security forces have also stopped a heavy attack against the government complex in Ramadi’s city center, and killing at least 12 ISIL gunmen.
Security forces have also penetrated into the residential districts in western Ramadi and established their control over them.
Meanwhile fierce clashes are underway in the Sufiya area and Street 40 in northeastern Ramadi; security forces are still advancing into the areas.
Troop reinforcements have also arrived from Baghdad and some of the neighboring provinces and are now being deployed in central Ramadi; there are reports that a major battle for the liberation of Anbar is imminent.
Iraqi air support ans coalition warplanes have carried out a number of sorties against targets in Ramadi’s northeastern sector.

In Fallujah, a general hospital source has reported that 8 residents have been killed, including 2 women and a child, and at least 14 have been wounded by the ongoing random bombardment exchanges between the security forces controlling the city’s perimeter and the ISIL gunmen holding the city.

In Garma, fierce clashes have been raging since the early hours of this morning aimed at establishing control over the town center, following the security forces’ success in capturing and holding the town’s perimeter and its outlying areas.

On the humanitarian front, Haditha is still suffering because no relief aid has been reaching the township, but earlier reports indicate that large quantities of foodstuffs are being readied in Baghdadi’s Ayn al-Asad military base, to be dispatched to Haditha.

Security forces have reported that dozens of ISIL gunmen were killed and that the road between Al-Sheeha Bridge in Garma and the 'Japanese' Bridge in eastern Ramadi has been liberated. The forces have also disarmed a number of booby-trapped vehicles and explosive devices. Iraqi aircraft are continuing their attacks on Garma and its surrounding areas.

In Ramadi, during the night and into the early hours of this morning numerous coalition warplanes have carried out sorties on the areas of the city's southern sector that are still under ISIL control, relying on a major intelligence gathering effort by security, police, and military intelligence units. Security forces are reporting that so far at least 120 have been killed in the strikes that have set back the gunmen's capabilities and activity in the area.

In Haditha, the leader of the Anbar Provincial Council, Sabah Karhout, announced today that 10 Haditha civilians have died of hunger; he holds the Trade Ministry responsible for the deaths because no relief aid has reached the town even after the liberation of the highway from Baghdadi and the Ayn al-Asad Base that is the destination of aid supplies. Meanwhile, the southwestern areas of Haditha are still under ISIL control.

In Baghdadi, fighting has been raging in the town's southwestern sector where ISIL gunmen are attempting to regain the ground they have recently lost in the areas across the river from the town.

In Fallujah, a general hospital source has reported that 2 residents have been killed and 11 wounded by the ongoing random bombardment exchanges between security forces on the city's perimeter and the gunmen holding the city.

In Amiriyat al-Fallujah, ISIL gunmen attempted yesterday an assault on the township's southwestern sector but fierce resistance by security forces thwarted the attack.

Coalition warplanes have launched a number of strikes on targets in western Anbar; 6 ISIL gunmen were killed in the Al-Qaim area, including one of ISIL's field commanders in the western region of Akashat near the Iraqi-Syrian border.

Coalition warplanes have also been in action near the town of Birwana in Haditha township. An Anbar Operations statement says that a number of ISIL gunmen were killed by the strikes.

In Baghdadi, the SWAT commander, Col. Shahban Al-Obaidi, has stated that security forces supported by tribal fighters have established control over most of the areas of Baghdadi where it has been announced that an aerial bridge has been established between the capital, Baghdad, and the Ayn Al-Asad Base that will serve to airlift foodstuffs to the western areas of Baghdadi and Haditha township and its surrounding areas.

In Ramadi, a major security forces attack has enabled these forces to penetrate into the residential districts of the city's southern sector. Security sources say that at least 13 gunmen were killed in the fighting, and 2 others (snipers) were captured. The forces have also erected concrete barriers between the areas they have liberated and the areas still under ISIL control.

In Fallujah, an elevated casualty count from the city's general hospital indicates that 9 residents have been killed and 44 wounded by the continuing mortar-fire exchanges between security forces on the city's outskirts and ISIL forces holding the city. Many of the city's central and northern residential districts were hit by mortar fire.

In the Garma area, airstrikes have killed at least 53 ISIL gunmen, according to  a senior officer of the 1st Division operating in the area.


In Amiriyat Al-Fallujah, the local council leader has confirmed today that the town is surrounded by ISIL gunmen who have continued to shell districts and buildings in the town whose security situation is extremely grim.
