In Ramadi, gunmen are
still in control of the city's southern sector as well as the western sector.
They are launching mortar and rocket attacks on the 8th Brigade HQ from the
5 Kilo district of western Ramadi as they attempt to take over the facility.
Meanwhile clashes have erupted between gunmen and the local police supported by
some of the tribal 'Awakenings' men in the city's northern and northeastern
countryside areas along the Euphrates
River .
In Fallujah, rockets
and mortar rounds have been falling onto a number of residential districts
since last night. The Fallujah
General Hospital
has announced that 4 residents were killed and 6 others wounded as a result
of those attacks.
In Al-Garma, the town
is still completely besieged on all sides after a number of its districts were
shelled yesterday.
In Haditha, the
situation has not changed since the armed groups attempted an assault into the
town. The situation within the town is relatively calm and a dusk-to-dawn
curfew is still in force.
Meanwhile, the gunmen
are still in control of the main towns in Anbar, all the way to the Syrian
border. Government air strikes are also continuing on suspected gunmen
positions in those areas. But it is definitely the gunmen who are running things
there and they are in full control of the security situation, as well as the
day-to-day living conditions there.
